Snowy Sunday afternoon

Photo Friday—Snowy Sunday afternoon

From as far back in the archives as last Sunday, here is is snowy scene from the back roads of New Zealand.

The weather forecasters had been predicting the biggest snow storm in 20 years—which unsurprisingly turned into a couple of cold windy days with a lot of rain. We felt cheated that we’d missed out on our promised snow day, so we threw the dog and some warm jackets in the back of the truck and headed inland.

It was just a quick afternoon jaunt into the hills, but the scenery was more than worth the long drive. You can always count on a good weekend if you head for the Southern Alps. There are more images on our Facebook page.
